PSX2PSP Eboots on PSP - how????

Postby dream2000 » Sat Mar 30, 2013 8:31 am

Hi,
I read a lot about my problem, but didn't found any solution, so I would like to ask your guidance :)

I have a PSP2004 with 6.60 Pro-C2.
I downloaded Eboots from the Downloads - Psx2psp.
I copied the file to the memory card's Game folder -
j:/PSP/Game/gamename/eboot.pbp

I can start the game, but after it starts, I'm stuck at the settings :(
I see a black background with
- quit game, game settings, memory card utility, other settings, software manual , reset game
menu, and nothing happens... It only reacts to up and down keys, nothing else, also I cannot quit just when I power off the PSP.
Can you help me please?

Might be a firmware problem maybe. I know the eboots here work with 6.60 pro-b9 with no problems. I dont really know to be honest what your problem is but I would have to say it is a firmware problem. Update to the latest pro-c if you are not already on it or switch to the pro-b firmware which I recommend.

Check out this topic. viewtopic.php?f=50&t=23435 Its not the same problem as yours but it has links for pro-b9 and other links you may need. Good luck :)

Thank you for your answer.
I tried with 6.60 pro-b9, and also B-10, C-1 and C-2, but the issue still occurs :(

For example:
I downloaded the Discworld Eboot (http://theisozone.com/downloads/playsta ... t-for-psp/)
Unpacked the rar, and put it onto the PSP MemoryStick (j:)
j:/PSP/Game/Discworld
the eboot.pbp is here

Without the CFW (because last time I started it, I had to power off the PSP, so there is "no CFW") , when I try to start it :
The copyright protection information is invalid
(8010850E)

After Fast recovery / Pro Update I can start the game, but the first thing I see, is a menu, wuth the following options:
quit game
game settings
memory card utility
other settings
software manual
reset game

It reacts to the up-down keys, and volume up-down (the vol. goes up-down), but nothing else...
I cannot quit, and cannot select anything...unless I power off the PSP.

Oh, and I forgot to write:
With the CFW, the ISO-s are working.
So if you can tell me, how to convert these eboot.pbp files to ISO, that would be good too :)

You need Popsloader (read instructions on the page)

You don't have to change firmware at all, just which popsloader you use.
Most PSX games I play use 372, 401 or 620. The package I linked to has all the loaders you may need though. If you get PSN conversions (not supported on this site) they will run regardless of your firmware but PSX2PSP conversions are hacked and not every game plays properly on every firmware. If you only need one or two you can delete all the rest off of your card if you want the space.

*****EDIT*****

Here is a compatibility list. (pdf attached also) Again you don't need a firmware change, just launch in that version of Popsloader. Example: Mechwarrior2 notes "Works on 3.80 M33 via Popsloader. Notworking on 5.00 m33-6" so it should launch fine with the 3.80 Popsloader.

I had a similar problem with Pro-C I uninstalled it and went back to 6.60 Pro-B10fix for my 1000 (same with 2000)

All of the Pro-CFW I've used has Pops built in but C has issues with the DRM of PSN Eboots.... didn't have a problem with homemade PSX Eboots

Thank you for your help, but unfortunately this didn't solve the problem :(
I tried all the pops versions, but the issue still occurs.

Thank you for the answer, but this also didn't work :(
I tried Pro-B9 , B-10, C-1 and C-2 also, now not just with install, but with uninstalls also

Have you changed any settings in the VSH menu/Recovery settings?

I cannot access VSH menu...
I tried a lot ways, re-installing/uninstalling/deleting CFWs, and so on, but it never appeared...
(I read it should appear by pressing 'select' button at the PSP menu bar - where you can select for example the game which you want to run)

did you add the plugin folder when you put the CFW files onto your memory stick?

put "seplugins" and "sdk" folders in the root of our stick

I have no idea what they do but I always put them on and I've never had your problem

The Pro-B10 I have doesn't have 'sdk' or 'seplugins' folder...
The Pro-B9 has an 'sdk' folder, I copied it, install the CFW, but it didn't had any effect
Also the Pro-C has 'seplugins', I copied it, install the CFW, but it didn't had any effect
And the Pro-C2 has 'seplugins' and 'sdk' also, I copied it, install the CFW, but it didn't had any effect

I think I have the correct CFW, because the ISO stuff are working, just the EBOOT.pbp files don't...

You need to create an seplugins folder, then add 3 notepad files to it (GAME, POPS, VSH)

Edit: Also use this: http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/psp-homebrew/psx2psp-v142-convert-psx-games-to-psp/. Just dl the psx game and convert it, should be simple

Yeah sounds like it might be the seplugins folder you need to check you got correct files should be something like this /SEPLUGINS/POPSLOADER/MODULES in it should be proheaparea.prx and README.TXT in modules folder it should have atleast 302 to 660 folders, there should be a popscore.prx in the popsloader folder and a popsloader.prx in the seplugins folder with pops.txt. You should have VSH installed(vshmenu.prx) as well if i remember right theres a popsloader you have to enable in the plugins menu

Thank you.
I had all the files that you and the oldish guide mentioned (I dumped the current 6.60 FW, and the files were already in the /SEPLUGINS/POPSLOADER/MODULES/660 folder with the same size ) , except vshmenu.prx.

Where can I download a working vshmenu.prx? I googled it, but only found vsh for previous OFW versions, or nonworking :(

http://www42.zippyshare.com/v/52794769/file.html

This is 660pro C mega seplugins pack, only copy the recovery folder and all files listed below it except remotejoylife.prx into the seplugins folder. Reboot get it into custom firmware then hit select button should bring up vshmenu then go into RECOVERY and hit X or O(to select it) this should bring up PRO Recovery menu go to plugins and enable popsloader.prx thats also in the pack if you aint got it in popsloader folder.

When you load a PSX game next should come up before game starts with a menu this is where you select what version of pops you want to use, i use 401 im on older firmware try 660. You can also get this up by holding R button when loading PSX game

pheww have a go. Hope it works

PS if your wondering why you dont see vshmenu.prx its there but called uvm.prx (ultimate vsh) you could if youve already got the files i told you to copy over just rename uvm.prx to vshmenu.prx this should work too
