Trouble using SMBPS2?

Postby Narancia_Orange » Sun Jun 18, 2017 11:18 pm

Hello y'alls, I'm kinda need help with my slim PS2.
I'm new to using FreeMCboot and all... heck I started last week
using this "hack". Now I know how to use OPL with USB Sticks (which to be honest, is horrible for playing games that has cinematics that aren't in real time like for exemple Silent Hills 2)
That's why I want to know how to play with a hdd connected to my computer.
I've followed some tutorials but I still encounter problems with the SMB server.
Everytime that I boot up OPL, I am greeted with a error message " 300: Cannot connect to SMB server ". I think I am already set for connecting my PS2 to my PC using a Ethernet cable since i'm able to download records from the "Network Update"
I just want to be able to play games flawlessly from my PS2 because my computer runs into massive slowdown during gameplay. Anyhow, here's my settings:

From the PS2
    Network config
    Advanced options : Off
    Ethernet link mode : Auto

    -PS2-
    IP address type : Static
    IP address : 192.168.0.10
    Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Gateway : 192.168.0.1
    DNS Server : 192.168.2.15
    ---------

    -SMB server-
    Address Type : NetBIOS
    Address : not set
    Port : 445

    Share : PS2SMB
    User : not set
    Password : (empty)

From My PC
    IP Address : 192.168.0.2
    Masque de sous-réseau: 225.255.255.0

Please tell me if anything is missing so I could give to you the information that you need in order to help me

Your going to need a user name and password. I created a new account on my PC called XBOX as I needed it for the XBOX at the time. I used it also for the PS2 shares.
You need to share the folder with the PS2 games and make sure the user account you will use has full access to the shared folder.

Alos this bit

-SMB server-
Address Type : NetBIOS
Address : not set

Needs to be

-SMB server-
Address Type : IP
Address : 192.168.0.2

Change the 'user' field to: "GUEST"
Leave the password blank.

Also, change the SMB Adress value to your computer's ip (192.168.0.2)

On your PC, make sure the shared folder allows 'Full Access' to the Users group.
