Duplicating an FMCB PS2 memory card

Postby EllisVanSofa » Thu Aug 11, 2016 9:53 pm

I wanted to duplicate my FMCB memory card for a friend. I tried copying the files from the card to a blank card (using my PS2) but the new card does not boot up. Should this method work?

It will not work trying to manually copy the files as the FMCB install "Breaks" the memory card system to fit.

As long as you can load uLaunch, you can install as many FreeMCBoot installs as you want by just using a USB Stick and the FreeMCBoot Installer ELF file

The Noobie package mentioned above is your safest bet, it's on TiZ somewhere

You format your USB Memory stick to FAT32
Copy the extracted FMCB installer files to it

(ROOT OF USB)

(FOLDER]
FreeMCBoot installer.ELF

Plug into PS2 and load uLaunch
Navigate to MASS: and press CIRCLE !
select the FMCB file (ELF) and press Circle
Once the installer has loaded , select MULTI-INSTALL (Important)
Plug in your card you want to make a new FMCB to into PS2
Click Install and select THE RIGHT CARD !
Press X to install
20 seconds later, it's done
Remove USB, Reset PS2 with the card still in slot

You just made your first exploit card ! Congrats !

http://theisozone.com/downloads/playsta ... e-package/
This is an OLDER version of FMCB but it works
Get used to how it works then upgrading is not an issue :)

OR if you can burn to disk and load through ESR, you could try the RIBBONS Pack

Thanks for the replies. I figured it was slightly more difficult than just copying the files from card to card. I will try the USB method when i get home.
