Make a Component Cable from a 360 Cable (problems with 1.6?)

Postby Nibbler » Thu Jul 19, 2018 4:38 pm

Hi Folks.

A friend of mine did this Mod for me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8jFJjoIO8s

He is really good with this stuff so i trust him.

Everything works but the vertical pixels are not 100% stable. They are "dancing" a little bit around. But Only the vertical. You can see it in the picture. ( i know its hard to see )

The carble works great and i can see it only in 720p when i am really close at the screen.
I have a Crystal 1.6.

Did anybody else have experience with this.
Its really minor but maybe somebody knows why this is.

Its the same when i use the cheap no name component cables aswell.

So, its not the mod.

Is the 1.6 XCalibur that bad with 720p ?
I mean its a minor thing but still.

Any ideas ?

Was the 360 cable ok on the 360 before modding
the 1.6's i've used & others i still have don't have an issue when displaying 720 or 1080 (1080 looks ok somewhat but lags like a dog when scrolling so is not enabled) when i'm on the unleash dash.
Everything is crystal clear & fine.
As for games they all get displayed at 420 even tho setting is for 720 on the chip, can't do much about that & it doesn't matter the games are ok on a 50" wide oled in full screen mode

You really need a known good working cable to find out whats wrong, either issue with the box or the cable

Yeah, not all games support 720p but do support 480p so they will use the lower resolution even though the dashboard has 720p enabled.

Original Xbox games that support alternate resolutions: Wikipedia List, Anthony817's list and mar00n's list of games supporting 720p and 1080i both here at TiZ. :lovetiz:

Like is said, same thing happends with a cheap ass component cable from amazon.
So, its defenitly not the mod. The quaity of the ausio is now absolutly buzz free.

My guess is that:

1) my PAL-Crystal Xbox has some sort of defect

or

2) a PAL-Crystal or any PAL 1.6 Xbox is not really suited for 720p

(we did not have that option in our xbox´s, only the US did but with the
the Enigma Switcher its possible to force a PAl Xbox into a NTSC XBOX but still, its not the same as a real NTSC)

So, who knows. Its so minor and only in 720p when i am super close to the screen.
Let it be ...
