I reviewed the only official Blade Runner game ever made

Postby St1ka » Thu Oct 12, 2017 7:18 pm

Hi everyone,

With the launch of Blade Runner 2049, I thought now would be a good time to show off Westwood Studios' Blade Runner for the PC. In my opinion, this is a highly underrated game that had the potential to revolutionize the Adventure Game genre if only it had gained more traction.

Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy the video:

I don't think it's underrated. Everybody who actually played it loved it - it's still one of my favorite PC-games ever :)

Yes, and I remember in the 80s a shop in my town had a copy of the game in it's shop window for a very long time :)

I didn't have a C64 at that time so I never had the chance to play it back then.

Yeah but now here's the twist, are you guys ready for it? It's not an official Blade Runner video game :P

Atari only licensed the movie's SOUNTRACK, so due a technicality, it's not an official blade runner movie. Yes, I swear I'm serious xD

I own original of the Westwood game and used to love how the plot changed depending on what happened...

For instance, you complete the game once and replay. But you remember what you did last time you played and do thing differently/ go different places at times you didn't have to... You find new bits happen every time you play. Timing on that game was awesome. It has several endings too.

Great rewiew. ;)
One thing to Comment, in video you say they probably culdnt afford Harrison Ford. But it is more probably that Ford refused for same reason he refused to play ANY other sequel of cast that make him one of most sucesfoul actors in that time, he was a dumbass!
At peek of his carrer he stared in 6 of 10 most sucesfoul movies at that time (Star Wars x3 and Indiana Jones x3), then he refused to play ANY more "shallow action Characters" (he even ask George Lucas to kill Han Solo in Return of Jedi) and start playing only drama and crap. Only now in his 70th he decide maybe should play those rules again, so he played again in New Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Blade Runner.

Played this game long before I ever knew there was a movie. I always thought as a kid it had tremendous production value and a real lived-in world... it all made sense eventually. Nice review, one of my all-time favorites!!

Yeah I know that. I watched a fact hunt vid on YouTube about it. Though it was based on the soundtrack, it is still branded as blade runner...legal loophole hehe....again really crappy game imo

Also I did watch your review, very nice.
