Title: Hajime No Ippo 2 (aka Victorious Boxers 2: Victorious Road)
System: Playstation 2
Language: Japanese
FAQ with Translation/Guide: YES - http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/917868.html

This is a boxing game based on the hit manga/anime show called Hajime No Ippo. In this game, you can create your boxer and manage his diet, training, and sparring sessions in order to make him faster and stronger. You will be able to develop muscle groups that will give your boxer certain advantages.

Choose from the many boxing styles available! From Peek-a-Boo, Orthodox, Unorthodox, Hitman Style, Freestyle, and more, it's up to how you want your boxer to fight! You can even create your own Artificial Intelligence for your boxer!

The game isn't all about becoming stronger and faster. You also have to watch your boxer's weight management! You will have to follow the rules of boxing, especially the weight limitations. Will gaining a lot of back and arm muscles be worth it if your speed gets reduced? Do you have enough time to lose the weight or build those muscles before your scheduled fight? You will really have lots of things to consider in order to create a world class boxer!

Creating a boxer is also handled very well. You can practically shape the face in any form you want. Do you want to create Mike Tyson? Go ahead! Do you want Manny Pacquiao? Yes it's possible to create him too! The only thing required is patience to create the boxers that you want!

In this game, you are allowed to do what real boxers do! You can change weight divisions anytime you want, as long as you make the required weight and you meet certain rules. You can challenge the champions from the WBA, WBO, WBC! The game even includes the NABA, IBF, OPBF, and other boxing organizations!

The action is also the most realistic even when compared to the Fight Night series! Duck, sway, roll, side step, circle your opponent, if you see it in real boxing, then you can do it here! There are no ridiculous "Parry" systems here like in Fight Night.

You can also play the actual story mode if you feel like following the story in the manga/anime show. It has all the characters just before the beginning of the Randy Boy Jr. arc.

What are you waiting for? Create your boxer, become the national champion, and then dominate the world stage!

Okay, I am curious if anyone has any advice for me on this game. I have tried for around three days to defeat the final boss of Act 5 in this game and I am absolutely at wits end here. He is insanely difficult. I would almost safely say borderline impossible. Does anyone have any advice how to beat him? I guess it is not a spoiler, but is the Date vs. Martinez fight. I have looked at videos on Youtube and at the FAQ, but I am drawing a blank. I get past the first round, but he can easily knock you out in less than 30 punches (he is the fastest character in the game) and I have hit him well over 100 times in a single round and he did not go down. Any advice on this fight would be very appreciated. The iso is wonderful and works like a charm on my modded PS2.

The only reason for my dedication is that beating Martinez is the ONLY way to unlock all the special moves for the create-a-boxer mode that does not involve an ungodly amount of time on acquiring a single move, or using a cheat device.
